Northside Council. Northside Site Based Council will hold a special meeting Thursday, Oct. 6 at 3:45 p.m. in the school library. The public is invited to attend.

Cynthiana/Harrison County NAACP will celebrate their seventh annual Freedom Fund Gala on Oct. 15 at Westside Elementary School cafeteria. NAACP considers it an honor to be able to organize and celebrate this event to enhance the spirit of all who recognize this organization as the country's oldest and highest respected civil rights organization. Donna Slone, assistant professor at Maysville Technical Community College, is the co-chair for the event. Speaker for the evening will be Katrina Taylor Akande, Research Investigator (Ph.D candidate) and Frank X. Walker. HCHS Class of 1957. The Harrison County High School Class of 1957 will meet at Biancke's on Oct. 17 at noon.
National Business Women's Week is Oct. 17-21. The Harrison County Licking Valley B&PW Club will host a breakfast meeting for the signing of NBWW proclamations, by Steve Moses, Cynthiana Mayor, Kenneth Abner, Berry Mayor, Alex Barnett, Harrison County Judge Executive, and Tom McKee, District 78 - State Representative. Their will also be several ladies recognized for work well done. A dinner banquet will be held for the LVBPW's Community Awardees of the Year. Members of the LVBPW Club will be guest on Coffee Break. The NBWW banner will be flown down town to help make the community aware of this event.
