THURSDAY, Aug. 25
Historical Book for the month of August will be Coop: A Year of Poultry, Pigs and Parenting by Michael Perry. Will meet Thursday, Aug. 25 at 5:30 p.m. Copies of the book are available at the front desk at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library.

FRIDAY, Aug. 26
Fish Fry and Gospel Music. Friday, Aug. 26 at the Harrison County 4-H grounds. Food served from 5 to 10 p.m., music from 6-9 p.m. Meal includes: Fish, hush puppies, corn on cob, slaw, baked beans and drink, $6, dessert extra. Community is welcome. Hosted by the Berry United Methodist Church.
Cherokee Chief Attakullakulla (Little Carpenter). Robert Rambo will present a portrayal at the HCHS auditorium on Aug. 26 at 10 a.m.
Bookmobile. The Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library Bookmobile will be available Friday, Aug. 26 at Cynthiana Baptist Daycare at 10:30 a.m.; Eastside Laundry, 2:30 p.m.; Robynwood, 3 p.m.

SATURDAY, Aug. 27
Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum is hosting the Smithsonian’s traveling exhibit, Journey Stories, in the lobby of the Chamber of Commerce building until Aug. 27. The exhibit is free and suitable for all ages. An attendant from the Museum will be available to guide visitors through the exhibit from 1 to 5 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday and from 10 to 5 on Friday and Saturday. Visitors are also welcome to view the exhibit on Mondays and Tuesdays when The Vault is open (from 10 to 2).
HCHS Class of 1959 Any Cynthiana High or Harrison County High graduates or former students are invited to a 70th birthday celebration on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 7-10 p.m. at the Cynthiana Country Club. Cost is $10. Call 234-5316 or 234-3823 for reservations by Friday, Aug. 19.
Annual Bike Race. The annual Rev. Ross Park Bike Race will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 for ages five to 12. Entry fee is a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food pantry. Registration begines at 9:30 a.m., race begins at 10 a.m. Grand prize will be a bike and helmet to the boy and girl winner. First and second place plaques will be awarded. The event is sponsored by the Rev. Ross Park committee, McDonald's, Harrison County Family Resource Center, and Champions for a Drug Free Harrison County.
Luau Dance. Saturday, Aug. 27 from 8-midnight at the Cynthiana Elks Lodge, hosted by the Cynthiana Lady Elks.

Learn how to preserve precious family treasures and artifacts such as documents, photos, uniforms, quilts, and films. The Stage is Bare Tour. Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. at Leesburg Christian Church. Premier Concert with Ryan Seaton, Dove Award winner,  as Seaton continues The Stage is Bare tour. Seaton will be joined by the Ryan Seaton Quartet featuring Aaron McCune. No tickets are required for this event but a love offering will be received.

Harrison County Fire Protection District meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, 113 W. Pike St., Cynthiana. Open to the public.
