Passport Day in the USA. The Cynthiana Post Office is hosting a special passport event in Cynthiana on Saturday, April 9, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. to provide passport information to U.S. citizens and to accept passport applications. Champion For A Drug-Free Harrison County will not meet Monday, Monday, April 11. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month.

Cynthiana-Harrison County Trust, Inc. (Museum) will have an organizational meeting to host a traveling Smithsonian Exhibit entitled 'Journey Stories.' Faces of Colon Cancer. A photo exhibit coordinated by the Kentucky Cancer Program to honor Kentucky survivors and spread the word that colon cancer screening saves lives on Wednesday and Thursday, April 20-21 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cynthiana-Harrison County Public Library. Paris Kiwanis Club to hold a Corn Hole Tournament on Thursday, April 21 at the big building at Legion Park in Paris. Registration begins at 6 p.m. and tournament starts at 7 p.m. The club will be accepting the first 32 teams only to participate. Cost is $20 per a team with single elimination. Pre K and Kindergarten Registration for the 2011-2012 school year will be held for all elementary schools at the Harrison County Board of Education, 308 Webster Ave. on Wednesday, May 18 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Thursday, May 19 from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2011. They are required to have birth certificate, social security card, current immunization certificate, physical, dental screening and eye screening upon school entrance. You must have a copy of the original birth certificate from Frankfort to register your child(ren). You can pick up birth certificate applications at the Community Education Center or the local Health Department. Physicals and immunizations will be available on day of registration. Children entering Pre-K for the first time must be 3 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2011. Pre K students need the same information and in addition, they will need a statement of income for the last 12 months, lead screening, social security card for everyone in household, and copy of medical card, if applicable. Battle of Cynthiana Reenactment. The Committee for the Battle of Cynthiana, Ky. invites everyone to attend Morgan's Raid.Free fun, admission, registration, and parking on June 18 and 19, 2011 at the Elks Lodge #438 Grounds, 1544 US Highway 62 E.  Camp opens Thursday, June 16 for set up and closes Sunday June 19.
