An awkward silence hung in the air as Cynthiana Mayor Steve Moses waited for a second to his motion to approve an amended contract with the formerly ousted economic development director.
Moses watched the clock at the back of the commissioners’ room at City Hall before declaring the motion dead for lack of a second after two minutes of silence.
The commission did agree unanimously to pay former EDA director Darlene Bussell $1,113 for the time she invoiced the city after having been let go by the Harrison County fiscal court and the Economic Development Authority.
