Cynthiana’s Commissioner of Public Safety Gary Brunker said Tuesday that the resignation of a Cynthiana Police officer really bothers him.
No. 1, he said, Ptl. Joe Daniels is a good officer. Secondly, he is leaving for a $9,000 increase in pay.
Brunker said the city needs to look at its pay for the high pressure jobs such as telecommunicators, police officers and firefighters.
Daniels will be joining the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department as deputy to replace the retiring Dep. Steve McCauley.
