Commission vote made city look ‘desperate and foolish’

To the editor:

The golden rule we teach our children applies to adults too, commissioners and Mr. Mayor! I have a hard time believing that any of you would like to look out your front door and see United Propane Gas and welcome them as your neighbor. Thank you Mr. Grayson for showing the residents of Connersville Pike compassion in their situation. When the comment was made concerning Judas selling out, I thought it was a little dramatic. Little did I know how appropriate it would be.  It is quite evident it is all about the money! It is by the support of the people that the city commissioners and the mayor occupy their offices. What a disappointment to see the city government display a position of power than to have respect for local taxpayers that have supported this county all of their lives. When deemed that United Propane Gas was not a fit for the comprehensive plan, there was the time to do the right thing. Instead, the vote made us look desperate and foolish! Just like Judas, we will all be held accountable!
