"We are recycling with a better deal than we had before," said Commissioner Jimmy New at Tuesday's commission meeting. "We will be getting some money back."
New said the city has never stopped collecting recyclables, which some residents may have misunderstood.
When the county's contract with Randy Northcutt was due for renewal on June 30, the city chose to look at other options stating that it was providing the vehicle and personnel to collect the material, then paying an additional $1,750 monthly.
