By a vote of 3-2 the Cynthiana City Commission opted to drop its pursuit of buying a gravel lot once the building there was razed.
It was the third vote that swayed the commission.
Initially, at a Feb. 25 meeting, the commission voted unanimously to authorize the mayor to respond to an offer for the purchase of property at the corner of Walnut and Pike streets.
