The Cynthiana City Commission agreed to sponsor a grant application that would allow for the construction of a fishing dock on recreation property at River Road.

The Land and Water Conservation grant would provide $11,500 with the city having to come up with $5,750 for the project.

The dock would be handicapped accessible.

“I think it’s a worthy project,” said Commissioner Billy Grayson. “My concern is where the money would come from.”

Mayor Steve Moses said he thought there would be local matching contributions to offset the costs.
