A special Christmas program will be presented at Calvary Assembly, 325 Webster (across from the high school) on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 10:45 a.m. Children’s Choir and skit “The Real Christmas Story.” Youth special music “Christmas Bells” by Casting Crowns and drama. Adult ensemble special music also. Free gift for all first time guests. Candy for the kids. A Christmas banquet with all the trimmings, will follow the service in the gym (free of charge). Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion at Calvary Assembly will be Monday, Dec. 24 from 6-6:45 p.m. During this busy season, pause and come worship with us. Christmas carols, short sermon, special music, communion and candlelight caroling. Everyone is welcome.

Church of the Advent, Episcopal, welcomes its new priest, Father Paul Brannock-Wanter.
Advent Season is now here and would like to invite all to services on Sunday morning.  Father Paul is leading us in a Sunday School class at 10 a.m. and worship service is at 11 a.m. There will be two Christmas Eve services at 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

The Cynthiana Christian Church, 202 N. Main St., invites the community to their Candlelight Communion service on Monday, Dec. 24 at 11 p.m. This year, the 30 plus year traditional service will be preceded by a 20-minute candlelight Christmas concert by the church’s Bel-Lair Hand Bell Choir at 10:30 p.m. These quiet and worshipful services will emphasize with their devotional nature and candlelight, the meaningful peace of the Christmas season, as well as share the love to be found at the Lord’s Table for all believers in the Christ Child.
Special music will be provided by the church’s choir under the direction of Pam Henson, in addition to the hand bell choir and others. Conducted by Dr. Larry Bishop and Dr. Tim Teater, the services are gifts of love to Cynthiana and Harrison County given by the Cynthiana Christian Church, “A People Who Care.” May all who come be blessed in the quietness of the historic sanctuary, decorated and lighted with Christmas hope, love, peace and joy.

Lair Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

The Church of the Nazarene will host a Birthday for Jesus celebration on Sunday, Dec. 16 with sandwiches, cake and ice cream.
Sunday School begins at 10 a.m., worship service at 11 a.m. and the celebration will begin at noon.

Pastor Wayne Tolson invites the public to the Christmas play on Dec. 23 at 6 p.m. and a community candlelight service at 7 p.m. on the 24th. Regular service times at Oddville Christian are Sunday 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
Area churches are being contacted concerning the celebration of Bro. Paul Stamper’s 85th birthday. Oddville Christian is hosting this event at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 30. For more information call 859-588-2394.
Also on Dec. 30 the Rest Home Ministry team will be presenting a program at Cedar Ridge.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel back 2000 years and see into the lives of people long ago? To hear the angel tell Mary she would be the mother of the Messiah or to listen to Jesus teach to the children on a hillside?  
Take a journey from the announcement of the birth to the cross where Jesus Christ gave his life.  After months of preparation, River of Life Ministries, 616 Clintonville Rd. Paris, will be presenting an outdoor Journey to the Cross -  a live production of several scenes from the life of Jesus Christ on Friday, Dec. 14 from 6-9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15 and 16, from 5-9 p.m.
This is a free event and everyone is welcome. Please dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes. Handicapped accessible.       

On Sunday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. the Connersville Christian Church will be presenting its Christmas Cantata. Refreshments following the program. Everyone is welcome.

On Sunday, Dec. 23 at 5:30 p.m., Sunrise Christian Church will be having its annual Candlelight Christmas service. Refreshments to following the program. Everyone is welcome.

“The Hour of Power” Radio Ministry, aired weekly on Saturday mornings on 90.7 FM (The Wind), at 10-11 a.m.
The Rev. Don Fryman will bring a message each week along with special music by various singers across Harrison County and surrounding counties.

Cynthiana NA Group Hope for Tomorrow meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 6 p.m. at St. James AME Church, 312 W. Pleasant St. Annex. Speaker meeting last Thursday of each month.
