Silas kicks off new service with Mike Wainwright

On Saturday, Sept. 14, Silas Baptist Church will welcome Mike Wainwright to their new Saturday evening service that begins at 6 p.m. Wainwright presents the music that God has given him in a professional, spiritual, but yet relaxed atmosphere. His music is traditional and southern gospel.

The new Saturday night service will begin Saturday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. This new service will be a mix of traditional and contemporary music with a sermon of God’s word.  

Silas has been serving God for over 200 years. It is a rural church located on the county lines of Bourbon and Harrison. It is located at the junction of Silas and Collins Roads (off Leesburg/Newtown one mile off 62 at Silas Road) and one mile off Russell Cave on Silas Road.

Silas offers a Sunday morning sanctuary bible study at 10 a.m., a regular Sunday morning service at 11 a.m. and a Wednesday night service at 7 p.m.

WarEagle Ministries Praise and Worship Center, Berry, Ky., will be holding revival Oct. 2-6. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday revival will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday revival will begin at 2 p.m. with prayer, and then music by The Richardson’s, a Bluegrass Gospel band out of Jackson Ky. Also (weather permitting) there will be bouncy houses for the kids beginning at 11 a.m.

The preaching will begin after praise and worship. There will also be food and refreshments available free of charge, so come and join us for revival in the streets of Berry, bring a chair if you can.

Join us Sunday for the 2 p.m. revival service at the Praise and Worship Center. There will be no morning or evening service Oct. 6, 2 p.m. only.

Cynthiana NA Group Hope for Tomorrow meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 6 p.m. at St. James AME Church, 312 W. Pleasant St. Annex. Speaker meeting last Thursday of each month.
