The Cynthiana Baptist Church family welcomes their new Interim Pastor, the Rev. John Withers of Lexington, Ky. Withers was recently called to Cynthiana Baptist Church and will be filling the pulpit until a full time senior pastor is called.

Withers was born in Cynthiana to Otis and Della Withers. He married Carol McDonald, also of Cynthiana.  They have three sons, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

 Withers received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown College, Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministries, and Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He was ordained at Cynthiana Baptist Church, May 26, 1963.  His more than 40 years pastoral experience includes two years with Lenoxburg Baptist Church in Falmouth, Ky., 16 years with Columbia Road Baptist Church in North Olmsted, Ohio, and 18 years with Open Door Church in Lexington, Ky.

Mt. Carmel welcomes author, entrepreneur, and award-winning speaker James Hale to Cynthiana. Hale will be bringing a message of hope in these troubled times.

Hale is CEO of Path Choices, a Kentucky-based company created to help people harness their talents, ignite their careers, and release their souls. He is author of Getting Seen, a resume preparation guidebook, and Quiet Spaces, a book on hearing God’s call in a noisy world. Join Mt. Carmel on March 8 at 10:45 as we welcome Hale.


“The Hour of Power” Radio Ministry, aired weekly on Saturday mornings on 90.7 FM (The Wind), at 10-11 a.m.

The Rev. Don Fryman will bring a message each week along with special music by various singers across Harrison County and surrounding counties.
