Pastor Dan Collard and church family invites everyone to holiday activities planned for the month of December at Calvary Assembly of God.

Dec. 18 and 19: The Live Nativity Story at 6:30 and 7:15 nightly. Free cookies and hot chocolate will be served in the fellowship hall after each performance.

Dec. 19: Youth Group Fundraiser at Ken’s bagging groceries from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for donations. All proceeds go to the Ireland Missions Trip this April.

Dec. 22, Dec. 27, Dec. 30: No p.m. services.

Dec. 31: Watch Night Service at 10 p.m.

Angel Food Ministries

The Angel Food Ministries program announces dates for pick-up at Central Christian Chruch located on the corner of Second Street and Riggs Avenue.

Pick-up on Saturday, Dec. 19 from 10:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m.


Cynthiana Baptist Church will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight service on Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.


Cynthiana Christian Church, 202 N. Main Street, invites the community to their Candlelight Communion Service, Thursday, Dec. 24 beginning at 11 p.m. The service of worship features an emphasis upon lighting candles representing the meaning of this significant season as well as sharing a time around the Lord’s table. Special music will be provided by the choir of the church under the direction of Pam Henson. Emily Spencer and Laurie Thomas will be featured as soloists and Danni Kemplin, flutist. The newly organized church handbell choir will also be participating. The service, conducted by Dr. Timothy Teater and Dr. Larry Bishop, is one of the special services of the church year and is well attended by both members of the church and persons in the community.


Christmas Eve service at Indian Creek Christian Church will be held from 11 p.m. to midnight on Dec. 24. The program is hosted and organized by the Seekers Sunday School Class.


On Saturday, Dec. 19, Journey is hosting a special dinner theatre where dinner will be served along with live entertainment at 6 p.m. Tickets are still available. If you are interested in attending, please contact the church at 235-8449.

On Saturday, Dec. 19 from 2-6 p.m., Journey will be serving food and drinks at Wal-Mart in conjunction with the Salvation Army’s bellringers. The food and drinks are free. Donations are encouraged to be dropped in the Salvation Army kettles. Come out and enjoy a free meal and help support this special charity.


The Lair Methodist Church will present their annual Christmas program on Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. The evening will begin with the Children’s program followed by a Christmas play entitled “The Hooterville Christmas Miracle.” The program will conclude with the Choir and a candlelight service. Refreshments will be served following the program. Everyone is invited.


Living Hope will be showing “The Nativity Story” along with providing a free meal on Christmas day.

The greatest day of the year; the birth of our Savior and we want to share it with you.

Salem youth will be presenting their Christmas musical program “Christmas Time” on Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. Everyone is invited.

Salem Church of Christ has completed a cookbook “Recipes and Remembrances.” Copies are for sale for $12 to support mission projects. For more information call 234-3390 or 234-3402.


Unity Christian Church will be having their Children’s Christmas program “The Great Gift Exchange” on Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

The Christmas Eve Candle Light Service will be held Dec. 24 at 11:30 p.m.


Jennifer Pearson of Cincinnati, Ohio, will be the guest speaker on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. at Upper Room Gospel Church, US 27 S. Everyone is welcome to attend.
