Basket Auction and Soup Dinner

The Berry United Methodist Basket Auction and Soup Dinner will be held Friday, Nov. 14 at the Harrison County 4-H Grounds, Ky. Hwy. 27 S, Cynthiana, at 5:30 p.m. Various soups and deserts will be served for a love donation. Gospel music will be performed while you eat. Basket auction will start  at 7:30 p.m.

Raffle tickets for beef

Tickets for two - halves of beef are available. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. There will be two tickets drawn at the Berry United Methodist Church annual Soup/Basket Auction on Friday, Nov. 14 at the Harrison County 4-H Grounds.  Contact a church member for tickets.



The First Church of God of Cynthiana will host an Awesome Autumn on Friday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m. Free dinner and games. Everyone welcome.


Grace Apostolic Church of Cynthiana has now relocated to their newly constructed building. The address is 235 Stokley Dr. Stokley Drive is the street across from Rite Aid as you enter Grays Run Estates. The new Sanctuary is at the end of the road on the hill.

Services are Sunday morning worship at 11 a.m.; Monday evening Marriage Enrichment class at 6 p.m.; Tuesday morning Ladies Bible study at 9 a.m.; and Wednesday evening Bible study at 7 p.m.

The next meeting of the Harrison County Ministerial Association will be Tuesday, Nov. 4 at noon at Biancke’s Restaurant.

The Thanksgiving Eve Community Worship Service will be Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Smith, pastor of Mount Carmel Christian Church, will deliver the message.

Unity Christian Church is preparing for their second annual Harvest of Hope Thanksgiving Meal for Thanksgiving Day at the Harrison County High School. For more information call Unity Christian Church at 859-234-5113.

Kim Jenks, LCSW, has started a new ministry for married couples at Grace Apostolic Church. ‘Ten Great Dates to Energize Your Marriage’ is being held at the church on Mondays through Dec. 8. For more information call Jenks at 859-234-8060.

The Food Pantry is in need of volunteer workers and donations. The Ministerial Association would like for every local church to have someone to serve as a representative for the pantry. Contact Margaret Watson at 859-234-1649.

The Clothing Closet is still in need of volunteers to work on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 3:30 p.m. They also need coats and other clothing in 2X and larger sizes. Contact Linda McGowan, director, at 859-234-1967.


Indian Creek Baptist Church will be in revival services Sunday, Oct. 26 at 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 27 and 28 at 7 p.m.

Dr. Glenn Mathews from Robbins, N.C., renowned evangelist and Bible teacher, will be the speaker. Mathews, President of Revival Crusade, Inc., leads in revivals, Bible conferences, and Prophecy conferences all over the Southeast.

Everyone is welcome to come and experience this season of renewal and revival.

Living Hope Assembly of God

Living Hope Assembly of God in conjuction with the Fireproof Movie that came out this week, continues to host a six-week series on ‘fireproofing’ your marriage and your relationships.

Everyone, along with the couples, is invited to begin the 40-day ‘Love Dare’ featured in the movie on Sunday mornings. 

The church holds services at Northside Elementary School on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., right next door to the church’s future home of 10 acres.

Marcus Baptist Church will host a revival Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. each evening. A fellowship meal will be served after each service.

Chalk Art Evangelist will be the Rev. Scottie McDowell, International Edifying Christ Ministries, Inc. of Rhinehart, La. Special music will be presented at each service. Everyone is welcome to attend. Bro. Jeromey Northcutt is the pastor.


Silas Baptist Church will host their annual pig roast and hayride on Saturday, Oct. 25. The event will start at 1 p.m. with a pig roast followed by games, trick or treating and a hayride. There will be food, fun, and fellowship for all ages. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Sunrise Christian

Sunrise Christian Church is hosting homecoming and revival services from Sunday, Oct. 26 through Tuesday, Oct. 28.

The evangelist for the revival is Kerry Allen, of Person to Person Ministries of Hillsboro, Ohio. Allen also serves as an adjunct faculty member of Louisville Bible College.

Special music for the revival will be provided by the Wallace Trio on Sunday and Wayne and Susan Keith on Monday.

Sunday’s services will begin at 11 a.m., with a message from Allen. A dinner will be held at 12:30 p.m.. followed by the Wallace Trio concert at 1:30.

On Monday and Tuesday, services start with music at 6:45 p.m.

Sunrise Christian Church is located on Ky. Hwy. 1284. Tim Humphries Sr. is the minister.

Young Peoples of Mountain Mission School in Grundy, Va., will present their message in song Sunday, Oct. 26 at Unity Christian at the 8:45 and 11 a.m. services. A potluck lunch to follow and the public is invited. Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. A love offering will be taken for the group.

Oct. 22: 6 p.m., Body and Soul supper; 7 p.m., choir practice, adult Bible study, and Youth Life Guard program.

Oct. 31: Friday from 5-7 p.m. “Trunk or Treat” at Unity. Refreshments will be served. All kids are invited.

Promise Keepers are meeting each Saturday at 8 a.m. at Biancke’s.
