A fish fry and gospel music, hosted by Berry United Methodist Church, will be held Friday, Sept. 4 at the Harrison County 4-H Fairgrounds. Serving time is  5-10 p.m. Cost is $5. Gospel music starts at 6 p.m. by Earl Gross and various local singers.

Fish will be cooked by David Turner-honor of Bluegrass Smokers. Everyone is welcome.


A “Bonfire Revival” will be held daily from 6-7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 4 through Oct. 4 at 104 Carr Rd. off US 27 north of Cynthiana. The revival is sponsored by Jordan Imani Ministries and Partners.

Pastor Dan Collard and the congregation of Calvary Assembly of God would like to invite everyone to a “9/11 Commemorative Service” Sunday, Sept. 6 at 10:30 a.m.  The special guest speaker  will be Stanley Praimnath. A 9/11 survivor, Praimnath will share his testimony on how God helped him survive the terrorism attack on the United States on Sept. 11, 2001.

Revival services will be held at Central Christian Church, corner of Second and Riggs, Sept. 20-23. Bro George Faull is the evangelist.

The service will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20 and 6:45 p.m. the next three nights.


Grace Apostolic Church, located at 235 Stokley Dr., will begin a weekly video series by John Bevere, entitled ‘The Bait of Satan.’ The sessions will start on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 6:30 p.m.

The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses. You will encounter offense, and its up to you how it affects your relationship with God.

Everyone is welcome to attend these 12- one-hour lessons.



Community cookout and concert, Sept. 12 from 4-7 p.m. at Helena United Methodist Church, 6481 Helena Rd., Route 324 off Hwy 11, May’s Lick, Ky.

September Meetings

General meeting: Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m., countywide United Methodist Women. Speaker will be Rose Nelson, President of Church Women United.

Circle of Sisters: Monday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. with Ann Hall as hostess. The program will be by Marilyn Willhoit and bazaar crafts.

Webber-McDaniel Group: No meeting, hostess at general meeting.

Rees-Lebus Group: Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. Meet at Family Fare.



The Harrison County United Methodist Church Sunday School Convocation will be held Sunday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at the church. The theme will be “Life’s Journey Starts With Sunday School.”

Everyone is welcome.


Everyone is invited for a gospel singing event at Oddville Christian Church. Nashville gospel recording artist, Shannon Bunch will be at Oddville Christian Church on Sept. 13 at 6 p.m.

Piqua Christian Church will be celebrating their 120th anniversary. Homecoming events will include:

•Saturday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m., pig roast and gospel singing. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening outdoors with food and music. (Will be held indoors if inclement weather.)

•Sunday, Sept. 27, 10 a.m. Sunday School; 11 a.m. Sunday morning service; potluck meal to follow worship service.
