Christmas Day fire may have been arson

Officials investigating two fires in two days at same house

By Becky Barnes

Police and fire officials are investigating two fires at the same residence on two nights... the first on Christmas night.

“Very suspicious in nature,” is what Cynthiana Fire Chief Jay Sanders is calling the blazes that left a White Oak Subdivision woman, her granddaughter and great-grandchildren, looking for a new residence.

Mary Epperson’s home at 50 Spruce Drive was gutted by fire that started around 7 p.m. Christmas night. She was in Georgetown at the time. The second fire was about the same time the very next night.
