Ceremony to be held Feb. 2 for soldiers

A deployment ceremony will be held in honor of the 149 Vertical Engineer Company at the Harrison County Middle School Feb. 2.

The 149 Vertical Engineering Company, based out of Harrison County, has been called for active duty in Afghanistan.

A special ceremony will be held at the middle school on Feb. 2, at 11 a.m., to see the soldiers off.

Guest speakers will include Mayor Steve Moses and Harrison County Judge-Executive Alex Barnett. 

The ceremony is opened to the public as the soldiers are toasted a farewell and safe return as they leave for one month of training in Texas before leaving for Afghanistan.
