For the last few years the Central KY Area of Extension has held a Stocker Conference in Lexington. This year the conference will be held Monday, Oct. 1 at the Fayette County Extension Office. During the session programs will deal with health programs, marketing issues, and the upcoming winter feeding program.
If you are going to buy or carry some calves this fall and winter I would suggest you come to this program. The only cost will be the $10 meal charge at registration. Call the office if you plan to attend this meeting. We will be able to carry 10 farmers in our van to the meeting.
The KY Beef Conference has been a highlight program for the beef program. Again we will be offering  the conference on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Fayette County Extension Office. The program will begin at 9 a.m. with registration and presentations at 10 a.m.
The highlight each year is a presentation by Cattle Fax from Colorado. The group is nationally respected on their programs and many of their livestock predictions have helped producers make critical decisions. We will also be looking at ways to feed our herds during the winter months.
The cost of this meeting is $10. The program will conclude by 3 p.m. We will have a van to take 10 producers so call if you plan to attend this meeting.
If you have any questions about either of these programs call the Extension Office at 859-234-5510.
