The Harrison County Fillies drew a bye in the 10th Region Tournament and played Campbell County in the semi final round last Wednesday.
The Lady Camels were dominant from the start and, though the Harrison County team played hard from start to finish, the Campbell County girls won 5-0.
“I was proud of how hard the girls played but we just were unable to compete with Campbell County’s depth and overall talent,” said Coach Kim Jenkins. “We did play hard to the end which I knew we would.”
Jenkins went on to comment about losing four seniors who have been in the program for seven years each.
Haley Carr, Taylor Fry, Marly Jenkins and Madelyn Judy played in their last game as a Fillie in the semi final tiff.
“I will really miss these girls as will the whole team,” concluded Jenkins.
Carr and Fry made the 10th Region All Tournament team.
The Fillies closed out the season with a 10-7-1 record and a 38th District Championship.
Campbell County advanced to Saturday’s play with a 14-5-2 season mark.
Campbell County went on to play Bishop Brossart on the Athletic Complex Field Saturday afternoon falling to the Lady Mustangs 1-0 in a tense and hard-fought battle. Bishop Brossart will advance to play Tates Creek in Alexandria in the next round.
