Harrison County Judge-Executive Alex Barnett has declared a state of emergency due to the poor conditions of a bridge located on Two Lick Road.
According to Barnett, the state bridge inspector has lowered the maximum capacity from 18 tons to only three tons for the bridge.
Due to Kentucky law, the county must first advertise for bids to repair the bridge since tax dollars are being used.
However, because the bridge is in such an unsafe condition for school buses and farm equipment to pass over, the court agreed that the bridge should be repaired immediately.
