In boys soccer, the Breds lost a heartbreaker to district rival Pendleton County on Tuesday night, 2-1. The host Wildcats scored first, but Harrison County answered with a goal by Jake Jenkins at the 15 minute mark of the second half to knot the score at 1-1.
Bobby (Feeback) played a nice through ball to Jake who outran a defender to the ball and scored, is how Harrison County coach Nick Hill explained the Breds lone goal.
The game turned inside the final minute of play. A disputed out-of-bounds call ended with a corner kick by the Wildcats that they converted for a 2-1 lead, and eventual win.
The referee closest to the play said it was a throw-in from the side, but the middle referee awarded a corner kick which I dont understand, Hill explained. Then on the corner, the Pendleton County player who headed it in just ran over two of our guys to get to the ball. After playing so hard for so long, it was a disappointing way to lose.
