Breds drop state opener in battle of pitchers

The Harrison County Thorobreds baseball team saw its state tournament run come to an end in the first round of the eight-team Forcht Bank/KHSAA State Baseball Tournament on Thursday evening when they were defeated by Lexington Catholic, 1-0.

In a tense pitcher's duel in front of a record crowd, Lexington Catholic pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning when Harrison County shortstop Eric Case misplayed a ground ball with the bases loaded.
