The Rowan County Vikings bowling team traveled from Morehead Monday night to Galactic Alley only to be swept by the Fillies and Thorobreds bowling teams.
Each of Harrison County’s teams won all seven points in their match to remain undefeated for the season.
Greg Dick was the leading bowler for Harrison County’s boys as he rolled 205 and 225 in his two games.
Andrew Wiggins rolled 213 and 161, Tanner Harney 180 and 165; Andrew Wills bowled 169 and 148 while Nathan Hyatt finished his two games with 172 and 121. William Sievers rolled a 200 game in his only outing on Monday.
The Fillies were led by Shaylee Carter who had a high game of 177 to lead the team and rolled a 163 in her second game.
Shelbi Morris was second high scorer for Harrison County with games of 155 and 147. Madison Soard was next with 172 and 120 followed by Jessica Wilson 169 and 117, Brooklyn Fryman 141 and 113 along with Josie Vaughn who had games of 119 and 115.
“I was proud of our effort and score especially since we hadn’t competed since Nov. 10,” remarked Coach Petey Reynolds. “We still have a lot of work to do on covering spares and maintaining our focus as a team. We are working toward our motto of ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’.”
The bowlers’ schedule really picks up as they travel to Lexington to bowl against Tates Creek on Friday before returning to the home alley for a match with Montgomery County next Monday. Then on Tuesday, they are back on the road to Lexington to do battle with Henry Clay.
