The Harrison County High School bowling team faced Scott County on Sunday and then came back with a boys’ only match with Rowan County on Monday.
Scott County swept the match with Harrison County winning a very close match, 3-4, with the boys’ team and easily defeating the young girls’ team 0-7.
The boys’ match was won by Scott County on the basis of total pins as each team won three head-to-head games.
Zach Schneider was the leading bowler for Harrison County totaling 415 for his two games.
Justin Edens was close behind for Harrison’s boys as he totaled 396.
Scott County’s Jon Taylor was the leading scorer as he totaled 422 for the afternoon.
Harrison County’s girls were led by Kelsi Caldwell as she knocked over 293 pins for the day, and Mikayla Fryman who totaled 251.
The girls’ competition and the boys’ was led by Scott County’s Tori Doyle as she bested the entire group with a nice 439 for the day.
Monday’s match with Rowan County was a 6-1 victory for Harrison County.
The Thorobreds’ bowlers won total pins by nearly 500 as they out-classed the Viking bowlers.
Edens was the top pin getter on this day as he totaled 448 in his two games.
Zack Gaunce had 365 for his two matches and Gregory Dick (225) and Justin Mitchell (216), Each had an outstanding game.
The bowlers next hit the lanes this Sunday in Winchester as they face the bowling Cardinals.
