An inmate from Bourbon County Detention Center who was out on work release is one of two people being looked at for burglaries in western Harrison County.

Det. Paul Olin, of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, said 27-year-old Jason Shipwash and 30-year-old Chris Wood are “persons of interest” in four burglaries the department is investigating.

Shipwash was allegedly out on work release from Bourbon County when the burglaries took place.

Olin said evidence from the burglaries, including a safe and some firearms, has been recovered.

The pair, along with Shipwash’s girlfriend, Jessica Arnold, are also suspected of burglaries in Scott County. Olin said Arnold is not a suspect in Harrison County.

All three are from Scott County.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted in conjunction with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

While the men have been charged in Scott County, local charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.

Olin did say, however, since weapons are involved, first degree burglary charges are likely. Arrests are also pending.
