West Jessamine edged both the Fillies and Thorobreds bowling teams to win the six-team tournament held in Danville last Saturday.
The tournament was sponsored by the Boyle County Rebel teams, who also competed with two teams.
The other participants along with Harrison County, West Jessamine and Boyle County were Montgomery County and East Jessamine.
The Fillies averaged 167 per game, which is very good as their total pin count was 3,665 for the 22 baker games.
The Thorobreds did even better with a pin fall of 4,370, which averages 199 per game for the 22 games for an excellent total.
Coach Petey Reynolds and his assistants, Frazier Fryman and Dennis Hyatt, have been putting in some long hours along with the student athletes and it is really beginning to pay off.
“I was pleased with the bowling that the girls and boys were able to do,” said Reynolds. “The assistant coaches and the parents of the players are to be commended for all the extra effort that it took for this long day of competition. Both teams were fighting fatigue, but held on to finish second.”
