Bob Pierce, Tobacco Specialist with the University of Kentucky has reported that Blue Mold has been found in Lewis, Mason, Jackson and Clay Counties in Eastern Kentucky.
Anyone with tobacco set in mid-June should be watching very closely with our current weather conditions. We would encourage anyone who is approaching topping time go ahead and top the tobacco and spray it with MH-30. This should reduce the chances of Blue Mold once the growth patterns have slowed on the tobacco.
