House Bill 327 passed in Frankfort earlier this month.
But the bill’s process began right here in Harrison County over a year ago, with the initiative of Harrison County High School Athletic Director Lee Kendall.
“It was a problem we had in Harrison County,” Kendall said about the ability to find coaches that matched the Kentucky High School Athletic Association’s criteria.
The association’s regulations required that all head and assistant coaches be certified teachers or have earned 64 hours of college credit.
