Beta Sigma Phi Honors Night/ Founders Day celebration held

The annual Honors Night/Founders Day celebration of Beta Sigma Phi met Monday, April 28 at the Christian Church. Omega chapter was in charge of the dinner and awards presentation. Bonnie Teater, president, read the 85th Founders Day message from International, which was sent by Laura Ross, daughter of founder Walter Ross.
The new theme for the coming year is “Expand Your Family Tree.”
With the idea that sorority is the family tree, members are encouraged to expand and find new members. Commitment to growth was recommended for all chapters.
Teater recognized the out-going officers in Omega, and thanked them for their service. Betty Kay McCullough, vice president, expressed gratitude for Teater’s leadership in this past year.
Nancy Deitemeyer, secretary, presented perfect attendance certificates to the following Omega members: Barbara Snopek, Linda Root, Rosemary Lucas, Betty Kay McCullough, Nancy Deitemeyer, Cheryl Case and Kay Cox.
Omega’s Girl of the Year was Barbara Snopek.  Program of the Year was Charlene Dawson.
Xi Beta Beta’s President Lourena Judy recognized her out-going officers and thanked them for all they did.  Mary Lebus, vice president, recognized Lourena and thanked her for devotion to the group.
Normal Wells, secretary, announced perfect attendance for the following Xi Beta Beta members: Cindy Cropper, Lourena Judy,  Norma Wells, Susan Lemons,  and Shonda Judy.
Xi Beta Beta’s Girl of the Year was Cindy Cropper.  Program of the Year was Normal Wells.
Xi Delta Pi’s President Lisa Feeback announced her officers and thanked them for all the help she was given. Julie Asher, vice president, honored the retiring president.
Gaye Noble, secretary, recognized  those who had perfect attendance for the year:  Lisa Aubrey, Lisa Feeback, Trish Jenkins and Kathy Livingood.
Xi Delta Pi’s Girl of the Year was Kathy Livingood.  Program of the Year was Kim Brooks.
Gamma Chi’s President Whitney Fowler presented her out-going officers and thanked them. Micki Grob expressed gratitude to Fowler for her leadership during the year.
Those with perfect attendance were: Rebecca Crowther, Micki Grob, Whitney Fowler, Kathy Linville and Jessica B. Smith.
Gamma Chi’s Girls of the Year were Ashley Peak and Micki Grob. Program of the Year was Lori Duckworth.
The evening was concluded with a program by Charlene Dawson and Ann Hall. Dawson did a reading, asking who lights up our lives? By making friendships, we learn to know others. Hall sang a chorus of the song “you light up my life.”
