To the editor:
On behalf of our HCHS Baseball Thorobreds it is my honor and pleasure to thank our community for the overwhelming support given our young men during the 2012 high school season. Thank you to the many businesses and fans that support our team both financially and with their attendance, to Mr. Dotson and the Harrison County Board of Education. Having the local radio station “WCYN-1400” and Mr. Jim Swinford calling the games and the local weekly paper The Cynthiana Democrat with Mr. Mike Aldridge writing HCHS sports articles is indicative of great community and school support systems.
Monday, our annual baseball camp began with next year’s team members and even some graduating seniors assisting with instruction and spending time with our youth - future high school athletes. The camp was held at River Road Park and the success of the camp was due in large part to the cooperation of and excellent assistance from Rick Chasteen and the Cynthiana-Harrison County Recreation Department.
The park was clean and well maintained, the fields were immaculate and the facilities were in top condition. Mr. Chasteen was present at all times to ensure there was nothing left undone. He went above and beyond expectations. What a great experience for our youth to have this facility available for their use.
Thank you so much to the Recreation Board for allowing conduct of this camp and to Mr. Chasteen for his dedication to the youth of this community and his commitment to the recreation needs of Cynthiana and Harrison County. His efforts are greatly appreciated.
To all baseball parents - from the high school, middle school and all youth baseball leagues - thank you for making Breds Baseball “a matter of pride.”
Yours in Baseball
Coach Mac Whitaker
