Harrison County 2008 graduate Josh Ashbrook has the Campbellsville Tiger wrestling squad on the way to the Mid South Conference championship for this season.
The Tigers are rated second nationally in NAIA and are currently 5-0 leading the Mid South. Campbellsville has defeated two nationally ranked teams during the early part of this season beating No. 5 rated Cumberland University and 17th The University of the Cumberlands.
During this run, Cynthiana’s Ashbrook is 4-0 with a forfeit at Central Baptist College, a 4-2 decision over Ohio Valley University, a fall over Cumberland, and a 10-2 major decision over the University of the Cumberlands. The 184 pound junior is also an Academic All American with a 4.0 GPA.
Ashbrook was a seven-year letter winner at Harrison County participating six times in the state meet. He was a state runner-up in 2007 after finishing third the two previous years and eighth as a high school freshman. Ashbrook is seventh in the nation with 272 career high school wins and was a NHSCA High School All-American. After a meet at King’s College in Bristol, Tenn., on Monday, the Tigers will head for Lebanon, Ill., for a dual meet with Missouri Baptist and the host team, McKendree.
