Archers finish second in Region 7 Tournament

The KHSAA High School Division Region 7 Tournament was held Friday in Pendleton County.  Harrison County was second of five teams in the Region 7 competition.  
Eighth-grader Kennedy Sumpter led the way for Harrison County with a score of 289.  Sumpter had 19 ten scores in this match.  The 289 score was the top score of all 49 females in the competition.  
Trent Evans, a senior, was next for Harrison County with a score of 282.  Evans was third of all 58 males in the competition.  Evans totaled 17 tens in his day’s work.  
Junior Kristin Feeback shot 280 to finish third for Harrison County.  Her score was the best among junior females and fourth of the 49 female participants.  
Eight-graders were fourth and fifth for the Harrison County High School team.  Jonathan Hamilton was fourth with 273 and Brooklyn Jett was fifth with a score of 272.  
The remainder of the top 12 for Harrison County were Devan Justice (269), Kory Beth Whitehead (268), Gunner Bryan (265), Eli Hargett (264), Cheradun Wolford (261), Hannah Perkins (260), and Katie Griffith (257).   A total of 24 archers competed for Harrison County.
