Anthony Ecklar, 3M Cynthiana team advisor, was recently selected as a recipient of the 2013 3M Community Volunteer Award.
Some community activities for which Ecklar volunteered are: Community Health Partnership Committee (CHP), EAC Safety subcommittee, Harrison County Safety Day presenter, 3M Cynthiana Gift Giving Team, United Community Fund board member, Harrison County Fire Protection board of trustees, Harrison County 9/11 Memorial committee, Upward Basketball coach and Cynthiana Baptist Church volunteer.
The 3M Community Volunteer Award annually recognizes 25 employees and retirees who make exceptional contributions by volunteering in their communities.
Since 1987, more than 450 3M volunteers across the country have received this special recognition. In addition, $1,000 is donated to a qualified nonprofit organization of each winner’s choice.
A panel of community leaders, representing various types of nonprofit organizations, reviews all nominated volunteers and selects those who best exemplify 3M’s commitment to volunteerism that enhances the quality of life in 3M communities. Winners are selected from across the United States.
Ecklar has worked at 3M for 15 years. He and his wife, Danita, have three children, Taylor, Katelin and Lauren, and they reside on Two Lick Road.
Ecklar is a member of Cynthiana Baptist Church and the Cynthiana Elks Lodge.
