FORD

Lauren Ford is a P.E. major at Eastern Kentucky University, and has received the Outstanding College/University Physical Education Student of the Year award. She has been a Group Fitness Instructor for EKU’s Fitness and Wellness Center for four years, teach five to eight classes per week that include cycling, yoga, cardio, toning and Zumba. (AFAA Primary Group Fitness Certification, AFAA Yoga Workshop, and Zumba Certification).
Ford has been a Personal Trainer for almost a year, customizing personal workout programs for clients based on specific needs and goals. Also motivate, encourage and support clients to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle (ACE Personal Trainer Certification).
She has also been the Fitness Supervisor for EKU’s Fitness and Wellness Center for two year, market and promote all programs that take place on campus relating to fitness and wellness, serve as a mentor for all Group Fitness Instructors as well as train new instructors to make sure they can offer safe and effective classes.
Ford has taken a leadership role by being on the KAHPERD Board, Student Representative, attending the KAHPERD Student Leadership Conference 2010 and 2011, and Southern District AAHPERD Student Leadership Conference 2010.
Ford is the daughter of Rusty and Ragena Ford of Harrison County and a graduate of Harrison County High School.
