Gabrielle (Ellie) Fisher graduated May 14, from the Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky.
Fisher attended The Gatton Academy as the first student from Harrison County.  While at the academy, students continue as members of the district they represent, Harrison County in this case, but the students attend classes at Western Kentucky University, living on campus during the school year.
Classes are college level and the students accumulate the college credit to continue their college career.
Fisher graduated from the academy with honors and distinction. This was the highest level of honors that the academy awards. To achieve this level, students are required to keep a cumulative academy GPA of 3.7 or higher, participation in at least two semesters of research with a research presentation or publication, and complete 60 hours or more of community service.
She will also graduate with her original class at Harrison County on June 3.
She will continue her education at the University of Louisville. She will attend the Speed School of Engineering at U of L working toward her Bachelors and Masters Degree in her major of Civil Engineering.   
She is the daughter of Mike and Nioka Fisher of Cynthiana.
