2011 4-H Camp
Harrison County 4-H’ers will be attending 4-H Camp, Tuesday-Friday, June 28-July 1 at North Central 4-H Camp near Carlisle, Ky. in Nicholas County. We will be camping with 4-H’ers from Franklin, Owen, Scott, and Woodford counties. 4-H Camp includes lots of fun, fellowship, and interesting classes, learning new and important things and meeting new friends.
Activities will include swimming, Sally Down the Alley, Carnival, Campfire, Demonstrations, and others. Youth ages 9-14 may attend. Stop by the Harrison County Extension Office and fill out a 4-H Camp registration form. The fee for 2011 is $145. There will be a camp orientation meeting on Monday, June 20 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Harrison County Extension Office.
The deadline for signing up for 4-H camp is June 1st. Openings are filled on a first come first serve basis so get your registration form and fee in as soon as possible.
We also are looking for responsible parents and other adults to attend 4-H Camp as counselors. If interested, pick up an application at the Harrison County Extension Office.
County Fair Dates
The 2011 Harrison County Fair has been scheduled for July 7-16 at the Harrison County 4-H Center Fairgrounds. All 4-H’ers should plan to turn in their exhibits Monday, July 11. 4-H’ers turning in exhibits will earn cash premiums and some will qualify for the 2011 Kentucky State Fair.
4-H Shooting Sports Club
The next Harrison County 4-H Shooting Sports Club meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, April 12 and Saturday, April 16 at the Roberts Farm.
