The City of Cynthiana spent $2.5 million on salaries for fiscal year 2008-09 and $262,424.80 was in overtime pay.
According to records released last week through an open records request from The Cynthiana Democrat, Police Chief Ray Johnson was the highest paid city employee. He earned $60,142.06. However, over $10,000 of that was in overtime with another $3,000 attributed to training incentives for which the city is reimbursed.
